Yi Wah moved to Canada with her father, a renowned professional tattoo artist who has been a significant influence on her career. Watching her father work inspired Yi Wah to explore the world of tattooing. Under his guidance and encouragement, she developed a passion for creating art that is truly her own.

In addition to her love for tattooing, Yi Wah enjoys visiting art exhibitions and creating unique designs in her own style. She has been honing her tattooing skills for the past two years, during which she discovered her preference for HAND POKE tattooing. This technique suits her artistic expression, but she is also proficient in machine tattoos.

Hand Poke Tattoos

Hand poke tattoos, also known as stick-and-poke tattoos, are a form of non-electric tattooing. Instead of using a tattoo machine, the artist manually applies ink to the skin using a single needle. This method involves dipping the needle in ink and the ‘‘ poking it into the skin to create the design’’.
